NESS NEWS

Weekly update for our Ness Community

HIGHLIGHTS THIS WEEK

YOUTH SUMMER MINISTRY SCHOLARSHIP DEADLINE HAS BEEN EXTENDED. THE NEW DEADLINE IS THIS WEDNESDAY, JUNE 10!

SUNDAY, JUNE 7, 2026

Prayer Gathering | 9:30 AM

Board Room

Coffee & Fellowship | 10 AM

Before the Service

  • Our worship time begins with an opportunity for giving and to thank God for all He has provided for us.

Giving in person lets everyone take part and also models the practice of tithing to our children.

Individuals who wish to give in person should include your name and address on your envelope so a number can be assigned to you. Tax receipts are sent in January following the calendar year.

  • The Cattani family is preparing a video for us to give us an update on the Osborne Village Church ministry this week.

  • Each week we read a congregational reading together.

This week the leader will read the question:

    “What is the Lord’s Prayer?”

In Matthew 6, Jesus teaches his disciples how to pray. You are probably already familiar with this scripture we’ll read together. This answer comes directly from scripture in Matthew 6:9-13. where Jesus says:

“Pray then like this: “Our Father in heaven, hallowed be your name. Your kingdom come, your will be done, on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread, and forgive us our debts, as we also have forgiven our debtors. And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil.”

SERVICE STARTS AT 10:30 AM

MESSAGE PREP

“JESUS—The One who calms the storm”

Pastor Jeremy Olfert

Pastor Jeremy will continue our series in Mark this week.

Last week Pastor Marcus encouraged us that in our doubt, we can be reminded that our faith rests in a faithful God. In this week’s passage Mark describes how even the disciples carried this struggle. “And he awoke and rebuked the wind and said to the sea, “Peace! Be still!” And the wind ceased, and there was a great calm. He said to them, “Why are you so afraid? Have you still no faith? Mark 4:39-40”

Sermon Questions are posted online. Get this week’s questions HERE to reflect as you learn.

CHILD DEDICATIONS

Psalm 127:3‍ ‍says “Children are a gift from the Lord”. Child Dedications are an opportunity to thank God for the blessing of children, to recognize and commit this gift to His care, and to commit to raising our children in His ways, with the help of our church family. The church also joins in this commitment to love, support, and pray for the children of our Ness community.

If you are interested in having your child DEDICATED, please fill out this form to let us know ►

NOTICES

HELP WANTED  FOR KIDZONE THIS SUMMER

We are looking for volunteers to teach/help in our summer kidzone program. If you would like to be involved in this ministry, or if you would like more information, please email/text Candace Dunsire.

VOLUNTEERS NEEDED  FOR EVENT SETUP

Our team we love to call the “Muscle Crew” could really use some extra hands for event setup. It’s usually a very quick task to setup or tear down but as the saying goes — “Many hands make light work”. If this is a way you can serve, speak to Jon Chapman or email the office to get connected.

ATTN YOUTH : DUE IMMEDIATELY  FOR SUMMER MINISTRY SCHOLARSHIPS

If you are a High School or Post Secondary Student who will be doing summer ministry this year, a bursary is available. This bursary was outlined to our Youth at a recent Youth night, and the deadline was June 1st, however if you have not yet had a chance to complete this, please do so as soon as possible and turn it in not later than June 10th. If you need assistance, or more information, reach out to Brennan or Chuck.

The form required is available through THIS LINK ►

DOXOLOGY

The version of the Doxology we’ll sing includes a few extra stanzas from the hymn “All people that on Earth do Dwell”.

All people that on earth do dwell
Sing to the Lord with cheerful voice
Serve him with joy his praises tell
Come now before him and rejoice

Know that the Lord is God indeed
He formed us all without our aid
We are the flock he comes to feed
The sheep who by his hands were made

O enter then his gates with joy
Within his courts his praise proclaim
Let thankful songs your tongues employ
O bless and magnify his name

Because the Lord our God is good
His mercy is forever sure
His faithfulness at all times stood
And shall from age to age endure

Praise God from whom all blessings flow
Praise him all creatures here below
Praise him above ye heavenly host
Praise Father Son and Holy Ghost
